About Us

The Little People’s Montessori School, located in Skokie, IL, is a childcare facility that supervises and cares for children. Our facility opened in July 2000, offering our services to support parents and guardians by caring for children too young to be left alone, most often children too young to attend school or school-aged children that require before or after school care. Our goal is to provide a family-like group setting through the three-year age span where learning can take place naturally. We allow the child to discover, explore, and experience the prepared environment with joy and wonder. We believe in fostering healthy collaboration between the school personnel and children’s families.

Our Program

Little People Montessori offers preschool and kindergarten programs and child care for 2 to 6 year olds. Our program consists of a curriculum that combines the Montessori method and developmentally appropriate curriculum in early childhood settings. Along with activities in Math, Language and Reading, Sensorial, Cultural Arts and Practical Life, we also incorporate Creative Arts, Music, and Play in our day.

Our Teachers

The teacher acts as a facilitator of learning. Originally called a “Directress,” the Montessori teacher functions as a designer of the environment, resource person, role model, demonstrator record-keeper, and meticiulous observer of each child’s behavior and growth.

With this important role, our staff are well-qualified. We are proud to have Montessori certified and degreed teachers in Early Childhood Education, as well as supportive and experienced staff.
